
ABOUT MATHETES
Mathetes
(the Greek word for
‘disciple’) is a new program at Evangelical Baptist
Church.
Mathetes will be an on-going series of college level courses that
will run on
Sunday
evenings for eight to ten weeks. These courses will be intensive and
require
some
study and preparation.

Who
Should Come? :
If you
have always wanted to study the Bible in a deeper way that would not be
possible during Sunday school or a small group, Mathetes might be
for you. If you like your faith challenged and want to push beyond easy
believeism then you may want to try a course or two.
What
is Involved? :
The
requirements for each course differ. You should check the syllabi for
each course to ascertain what is required for that particular course. In
general each course will require some outside reading and study. You
will be required to attend each class and take the examinations or write
a paper or two.
What
Does it Cost? :
The
courses are free but you will be asked to pay for the textbooks needed.

Mathetes offers college level courses. These courses, however, are designed to provide you with biblical understanding not college credits. Mathetes is not accredited
