working together in Christian community, active in the life and ministry
of the church who are God centered and growing in wisdom and love for God and
others.
2. Philosophy of Youth
Minister
a. Focus on youth - called to minister to young people
b. Models faith, spirituality, and moral character
c. Build relationships
i. Be both friend and leader to the youth.
ii. Identify and encourage youth who demonstrate leadership and other spiritual gifts
iii. Be a team player in training adult volunteers and parents
d. Leads by serving
e. Emphasizes Christian community and fellowship
3. Job
Description / Qualifications
a. part time (20+ hours)
b. Work with 6th - 12th graders
c. Past youth leadership experience preferred
d. Must submit to CORI/SORI tests
e. Reports to Senior Pastor and communicates effectively and regularly to church leadership
f. Involved in the wider life of the church (EBC Church meeting attendance mandatory)
g. Agrees with doctrine, vision, and values of EBC and with the above Vision, and Philosophy of Youth Ministry
h. Familiar with Bible, and bases ministry on biblical principles
i. Able to counsel and refer as needed
j. Attitude of availability to youth
k. Will use own gifts and skills to make ministry fun for the youth
l. Leadership gifts - inspire others to action
m. Self-starter who will develop and expand existing program
n. Develop the following ministries
i. Youth discipleship (Bible study, spiritual growth, personal relationship with God through Jesus, wisdom in decision making)
ii. Evangelism and outreach
iii. Worship
iv. Service
v. Fellowship and community
